Pho Sure – East Village
August 8, 2016
I’m obsessed with Vietnamese food right now. I don’t know why but I seriously could eat a bowl of spicy pho every single day. I’m not exaggerating either. I’m currently in SoCal right now and I’m dreaming of Pho Sure back in the East Village of NYC.
My dear and wonderful friend Viet took me and our little group of beach bums to Pho Sure for dinner after a day spent at the beach.
My lovely friend Rebecca and I split Sticky Rice – Vietnamese Sticky Rice with grilled chicken, Chinese Sausage, fried onions, and scallions.
First of all, how have I never had Chinese Sausage before? Life changing. This is a real comfort dish and I can’t wait to order it again!
We also split the Veggie Summer Rolls – Vermicelli noodles, mint, daikon, lettuce wrapped in rice paper, served with peanut sauce.
It’s literally like eating Summer.
The rest of our crew ordered
Banh Mi Chicken – Roti-style chicken, mayo, pickled daikon, carrots, cucumber, and cilantro.
The Vietnamese know how to make some of the best sandwiches in the world.
A great way to wash it down is with Iced Vietnamese Coffee.
You’ll kiss your Starbucks habit goodbye after trying this!
Another beautiful fish was Crispy Chicken Fried Rice – Chicken thigh served with tomato rice.
TX ordered B’UN – Rice vermicelli noodles with lettuce, pickled daikon, carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, peanuts, mint, scallion oil, and nuoc cham with spicy chicken.
Of course one of my favorite things to eat is Pho! Pronounced Fa.
The Pho Sure – Beef noodle soup with rare beef, brisket, and shin.
That was some of the best broth I have ever had.
I can’t wait to get back to the city and shove my face full of this wonderful deliciousness.
