Grand Anse – Guadeloupe
May 27, 2016
One of my favorite things is going to beach. Grand Anse, on the Basse-Terre side of Guadeloupe, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. With rolling hills in the background and crystal blue water, it’s not difficult to see why.
One of the coolest things about Grand Anse is the food trucks. Skip packing a lunch and enjoy some local foods like a Bokit.
A Bokit is a type of fried sandwich similar to a Johnny Cake. Made with flour, water, salt, and bicarbonate or yeast, it is then fried in a saucepan with sunflower oil.
We went to Les Delices d’Adrianna Bokits, and ordered an Oeuf Sassague et Fromage Bokit.
Filling and really good.
There’s even a juice bar: Bar au Jus.
We ordered a Banana Pineapple smoothie.
Another day spent at Grand Anse we tried Delices De Marco.
We had a Bokits avec Poulet Fromage et Salad.
One really cool thing was this local couple set up shop on the beach and proceeded to make sorbet right then and there.
I had Coco sorbet and Warren had Passion Fruit.
So refreshing and creamy. It was such a delicious treat.
Grande Anse is definitely a must go to if you ever find yourself in Guadeloupe.
