I’m a huge fan of having nice nails. I feel that even if I, myself am not put together, at least my nails will look nice and I will feel less “crunchy”.
Sadly, getting a cheap manicure won’t suffice for me. There’s no point. Literally ever time I leave the nail salon, 10 minutes later one of my nails is chipped! What can I say? I’m rough on my hands. I cook, I workout, I play with my lightsaber, you get the point. Luckily, one of my friends told me about Calgel. Calgel is a Japanese nail art that lasts up to 4 weeks, I usually can make it to 5. Not only is it durable, it also doesn’t damage your natural nail. Unlike acrylics. It also comes in a slew of different colors and glitter. The only down side is the price. Depending upon what you want done, you can either walk out with a $35.00 manicure or $80.00. It just depends upon how crazy you want your nails to look. But when you think about it getting a $15.00 manicure adds up too. You’re probably going at least every two weeks or so for something that doesn’t even last.
My go to place in California to get my Calgel fix is Atlas Studio in Costa Mesa.
This is the first place I ever tried Calgel and quickly became an addict.
Now, I had one hell of a time finding a Calgel studio in NYC. Several spots were either way over priced or just unsanitary. I finally settled on Marie Nails They have two locations in Manahattan, and I have been to both. If you live in LA they also have 3 places.
So if you are tired of your boring ol’ plain nail polish, why not try Calgel?
