The other evening I met two of my friends for dinner in Ventura at Cafe Brasil They were coming from Glendale and I from Long Beach, so we thought Culver City was a good half-way point for us. My dear friend Louise suggested we go to this place and I have to say she made a fantastic choice!
The ambiance is so bright and colorful with fresh flowers on every table. You order right as you walk in at the counter. I ordered the Grilled Salmon marinated with Brazilian spices. It comes with white rice, black beans, salsa, fried plantains, & soup or salad picante. I had mine with a salad. The fish was grilled perfectly! This was the first time I ever had Brazilain food and I found it very similar to Cuban food.
My friend, Jee, ordered the breakfast (served all day) which I was told was great and my other friend, Louise, ordered the grilled lamb chops, which I tried, and found to be pretty good. I preferred my salmon.
So I have to say Cafe Brasil is definitely on my list of places I would go to again!
